LinkedIn and Indeed – two of the most popular job search resources for applicants looking for their next opportunity. And while they are often categorized under the same umbrella, they are actually quite different.
This review will focus on comparing both platforms in hopes of giving you a better idea on what to use moving forward (based on your current needs).

Indeed is the largest job posting site on the internet. Founded in 2005, it has become known as one of the go to websites for posting and finding jobs online. The site is free to use for both job seekers and companies looking to hire (with paid options available).

The assessments are a great feature which can help prove that you are right for the job and actually possess the skills listed on your resume.

On top of networking and having access to forums where you can learn about companies and business related topics, LinkedIn offers users a job board where they can search for work.
Though there are premium memberships, you can join LinkedIn and use many of their resources for free (including the job search function). The memberships can help you build your connections faster, but they are not necessary.

While both LinkedIn and Indeed are essential when it comes to finding a new job, they are vastly different platforms.
If you are looking for a large number of job listings and the least amount of time invested into the platform, Indeed is right for you.
But if you are looking to build a long lasting career with a large network that can help aid in your future, I’d go with LinkedIn (our choice).
You can’t go wrong with either but our personal favorite is LinkedIn due to its ability to generate relationships on the platform. This will often speed up the job search process and present more qualified opportunities to job seekers.
